LOGOS Planning
Awwww!! As of May 3rd, LOGOS is over until fall 2009 (how sad). We hope you all had a great time this year... I
know I did. It was fun watching this church-wide experiment unfold week after week where we learned how we
can participate in weekly worship, have fun with one another, dine together with great food and games. We
learned how to center on experiencing the love of God through Jesus our savior. And finally we participated in
ushering in the Kingdom of Heaven right here at the Sparta Presbyterian Church. The response has been great
where literally scores of adults join us each week, celebrating with the kids a night of fun and learning.
Under the leadership of Dan McEver, we will meet over the summer evaluating our successes and our
opportunities, building an even better program for fall. Over the summer we ask each of you to prayerfully
consider how you might contribute your gifts to the program.
Thanks again to all the adults supporting this program and all the kids participating each week. Special thanks to
Carol Bennett, for her zeal in the kitchen and the excitement she brings each week to make LOGOS fun and
exciting for the kids; Karen McEver leading our young kids in Worship Skills; Bruce Piper and Bob Forrester
leading the youth in worship and bible study; Robert Piper and Bill Schollmeyor for leading recreation; Pam
Mudrick, Nick Boon, Bob Johnson, Scott Vincelette and Melissa DeMarchi for leading bible study. And thanks to
all the adults supporting the program each week.
Please check for bulletins or announcements for over the summer fun and activities, especially for our older youth.
Enjoy the summer!!! See you in the fall!!
Peace in Christ, Joe Young

Blessed Beginnings School
- Blessed Beginnings was blessed with another wonderful group of boys and girls this
year. It is amazing how much they have grown and learned during the school year. Before the children
rush off to summer vacations, many of the boys and girls will be graduating and moving on to the “big
school”. Preschool graduation will be held on Wednesday, June 10th at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The
kindergarten children will have their graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 11th at 9:30 a.m. in the
Sanctuary. We will miss each and every child but are happy for them knowing that God will go with
them and continue to watch over them in the years ahead.
While we know that children and families must move on, we will be looking forward to seeing many familiar smiles
in September and also the excitement of meeting new children that will be joining Blessed Beginnings in the fall.
We are still accepting registration for the preschool and kindergarten. If you or someone you know is looking for a
warm and caring school environment, please have them contact the office at 726-7513.
We are also excited about the addition of a Transitional First Grade, or T-1 class. The T-1 class is offered for those
children that have completed kindergarten, but may not be academically, emotionally or socially ready for the
demands of a regular first grade. For more information or to register, please contact the school office at 726-7513.
We thank everyone for their prayers and continued generosity. We are truly blessed with wonderful teachers and
staff members, loving families and amazing children.
May God bless you and your families with a wonderful, joy filled summer. See everyone in September.
